Green Needham’s Landscaping Team is seeking to ban gas-powered leaf blowers and to shift to safer, more environmentally responsible approaches and equipment for leaf handling and removal in Needham. Plastics Reduction team is working to reduce single-use plastic consumption and waste in Needham.
We are working to:
- Prepare a citzens petition that would stop the use of gas-powered leaf blowers in Needham over a phase-in period.
- Connecting with other towns that have implemented similar bans.
- Encourage Needham residents to switch to gas-powered leaf blowers and to encourage their landscaping companies to do the same.
- engaging with local professional lawn landscapers to encourage them to switch to gas-powered leaf blowers.
