Public Forum on Gas Leaks in Wellesley

March 21, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Free

Tuesday, March 21, from 7:00 to 8:30 pm, at the Wellesley Free Library, Wakelin Room –  Free and open to the public.
Wellesley has more than 200 gas leaks from the pipelines under our streets. Leaking gas poses a risk to our safety, our health, and our environment. As ratepayers, we are all paying for this wasted gas!

Four featured speakers –  Town officials will also be available to answer questions.

Co-sponsored by Wellesley Board of Selectmen, State Representative Alice Peisch, State Senator Cynthia Creem, State Senator Richard Ross, Natural Resources Commission, Sustainable Energy Committee, Health Department, and Sustainable Wellesley.

  • Wellesley Green Schools & Sustainable Wellesley Gas Leaks Tagging: WGS and SW are organizing volunteers to tag the gas leaks throughout town on Saturday, March 11
  • Kick-off rally, Saturday, March 11, 9:30 to 10 am, Wellesley Town Hall: Everyone is welcome — goal is to rally the taggers and pass out materials. We will have one or two people say a few words about gas leaks, why we are tagging, and invite everyone to come to the forum on March 21. Coordinators will distribute the tagging materials to volunteer teams who are doing the tagging.
