Mass Energy, a non-profit with a mission to make energy more affordable and environmentally sustainable, has launched a new limited-time program which enables people to buy an electric vehicle at a discount. Drive Green with Mass Energy is the first EV buying group program in the Northeast. Mass Energy has negotiated with several car dealers in Massachusetts and Rhode Island to offer the Nissan LEAF, Ford Fusion Energi, Ford C-Max Energi, or Chevy Volt at discounted prices. They have also set up a waiting list for the all-new Chevrolet Bolt.
Anyone is eligible to purchase an electric vehicle at a pre-negotiated discounted price at one of the participating dealers before the program end date of February 28, 2017. These cars are eligible for federal tax credits of up to $7500 and state rebates of up to $2500. Altogether with the Drive Green with Mass Energy discounts, you can buy a new EV for about $20,000 less than the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) or lease with a low monthly payment.
