It’s official — Needham’s Climate Action Roadmap has been completed! Come to Powers Hall on Wednesday, June 5th from 6-7 p.m. to see what the Town (and you!) can do to combat Climate Change and make the Town more resilient to the effects of warming temperatures. Hosted by the Town’s Climate Action Planning Committee, the event will include an overview of the Roadmap and the process by which it was developed, as well as a brief presentation of accomplishments to date, climate hazards, Needham’s greenhouse gas emissions assessment, and identified priority actions. The presenters will also discuss what comes next: How will we use and update the Roadmap  in the coming months and years?

All residents, business owners, Needham Boards and Committees are encouraged to attend. There will be ample time for questions and discussion. The forum will be in-person only and will be recorded by The Needham Channel for later viewing.

Questions about the event can be addressed to gqueenan@needhamma.gov.

Nearly 2 years in the making, the Climate Action Roadmap is a set of detailed recommendations for how Needham can reduce greenhouse gas emissions and strengthen its resilience to Climate Change. The process started in 2021, when Green Needham, joined by the Needham League of Women Voters and Mothers Out Front Needham, developed the proposal to the Select Board that resulted in the establishment of Needham’s Climate Action Planning Committee (CAPC) in 2022.

Green Needham looks forward to working with the Town, and its residents and businesses, to implement the Plan.

Needham’s Climate Action Roadmap Will Be Introduced at a June 5th Forum!
