Green Needham Collaborative is proud to join the Select Board and other government and non-government entities in Needham in adopting the Racial Equity Statement for the Town of Needham created by Needham Unite Against Racism Initiative (NUARI).
Green Needham pledges to work towards making Needham a more inclusive community, and to ensure that its actions contribute to a just, equitable, and antiracist community.
Green Needham recognizes that communities of color often suffer disproportionate health and economic impacts of climate change and fossil fuel dependence.
Green Needham sees environmental justice considerations as central to developing a sustainable economy that addresses climate change as a systemic and existential risk by rapidly moving toward net zero greenhouse gas emissions. Green Needham therefore believes that by applying an environmental justice lens to our work building a more sustainable community we will also help build a more just community.
