The VFW Hall in Needham recently took advantage of the Small Business Energy Efficiency Program with AECOM, Mass Save’s subcontractor for Needham businesses and non-profits. After a no-cost energy assessment, which can be in-person or virtual, the following energy-saving improvements were made:
- All exterior and interior lighting was upgraded to LED technology
- Energy conservation devices were installed on the hot water system to save gas
The total cost of the work was $17,600, with 100% of that cost paid by Eversource. Savings on the VFW’s annual utility bills are estimated to be $5,000/year. Bill Byrnes, Property Manager, spearheaded the project for the VFW, which was completed in March 2021. Bill and the VFW are very happy with how it worked out!
