The CAPC has been charged by the Select Board with providing a roadmap for the town, its residents, and business that meets or exceeds the State’s climate mitigation and resilience goals and achieves net zero greenhouse emissions by 2050.  Stephen will discuss the process of making the plan, its priorities for the coming year, and the importance of individual actions in achieving the Plan’s success.

Stephen will also explain Community Electricity Aggregation (CEA), which was approved at the Oct. 24 Needham Special Town Meeting. The CEA has been identified by the Climate Action Planning Committee as one of the most impactful actions Needham can take in the short run to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Stephen will explain what a CEA is, the process the Town will follow to put one in place, and the opportunity that the CEA will offer Needham residents, organizations, and businesses to stabilize electricity costs and reduce their carbon footprint.

Please contact the Town of Needham Climate Action Planning Committee at climate@needhamma.gov if you would like a presentation them to arrange a presentation for your group or organization.
