Enjoy beautiful flowers for a good cause on Sunday, June 14th from 1 – 4 p.m. The Needham Women’s Club 4th Annual Garden Tour promises not only a look at some of Needham’s loveliest gardens, but also a chance to support our local rail trail. The primary recipient of the proceeds from this year’s event will be the Bay Colony Rail Trail project, which aims to convert a 7-mile abandoned rail corridor between Needham and Medfield to a trail for walking, running, biking and cross-country skiing. In 2015 a 1.7-mile portion of the trail is expected to open in Needham, where tracks have already been pulled up along a stretch of the railroad line. See Bay Colony Rail Trail, Needham.
Tickets for the Needham Women’s Club Garden Tour are $30 in advance and are available through June 13 at various locations in Needham or online through PayPal. See the Needham Women’s Club website for details. Tickets on the day of the tour will be $40 and will be available between 12:30 – 2 p.m. at registration at the Needham Historical Society, 1147 Central Avenue.
