How — exactly — does one live a more environmentally-sensitive lifestyle in Needham? Just in time for Earth Day, Green Needham is pleased to announce the completion of the first two sections of “Living Green in Needham,” a project that will result in a comprehensive on-line compendium of useful information and “green living” tips specific to Needham.
On the Green Needham home page, under “Living Green — Recyclopedia,” you will find an alphabetical listing of many different kinds of materials (everything from antifreeze to computer keyboards, to yoga mats), with recycling and reuse options.
“Living Green — Transportation” furnishes the practical information you need about riding the Needham commuter rail, Green Line, and Bus 59, plus resources for walking and biking. How do you get rail and subway tickets and how much do they cost? What about parking? Do children ride free? How do seniors get their discounts?
Green Needham is planning future sections on food, water conservation, enjoying nature, renewable energy and energy conservation, and more. Do you have a passion for one of these topics? Do you have knowledge or expertise to share? You can multiply the impact of what you know – and what you learn – by being part of bringing these “Living Green” resources to your friends and neighbors in Needham. Please contact info@greenneedham.org if you would like to help.
