The Newton-Needham Chamber is seeking nominations for its annual Green Business Awards. The awards recognize businesses that are at the forefront of the sustainable and environmentally-friendly business movement.
To qualify a business must meet the following criteria:
- Located in Needham or Newton
- Has made significant progress in reducing energy or other environmental strategies toward sustainability, and/or
- Supplies green products or services
Green Needham is an active member of the Chamber’s Environment Committee, which organizes and runs the yearly programs. Green Needham and the Newton Needham Chamber encourage all eligible businesses to apply and will announce winners at its Annual Green Business Awards Breakfast on Wednesday, May 6, 2015.
“The Green Business Awards Breakfast is a chance to bring together local businesses, energy and environmental experts and policy makers to discuss the challenges and opportunities related to preserving and protecting our environment,” said Greg Reibman, president of the Newton-Needham Chamber of Commerce. “We hope the recognition of these outstanding businesses inspires others to embrace green business best practices and commit to reducing their carbon footprint as well.”
Past award recipients include:
- 2014 Needham Green Business of the Year: The Residence Inn Needham
- 2014 Newton Green Business of the Year: Lasell College
- 2014 Green Initiative Award: The Bulfinch Group, Byggmeister and Commodore Builders
- 2014 Green Tech Award: BigBelly Solar, Building 36
Deadline for submissions is end of business Friday, March 6, 2015.
