Green Needham is expanding its Solar Team. Join us and help accelerate renewable solar energy in Needham.
We’re hosting two “armchair” web meetings to introduce the opportunities for growing solar energy in Needham. You don’t have to have a lot of time – or experience with solar – to help. Our plans include:
- Solar at the RTS/Municipal Solar – Green Needham has championed renewable energy for the Town of Needham, especially the flagship opportunity to install a 2 MW PV system on top of the closed landfill. We’ve accomplished an important step with the appointment of the Solar Exploratory Committee by the Selectmen. The Solar Team will support their work and, as the process continues, generate support throughout the town.
- Solarize Needham – accelerating installation of solar PV for Needham homeowners. Beginning with a pilot program in four Green Communities in 2011, the Solarize Massachusetts program has helped homeowners in over 20 communities receive lower prices and an easier path to installing solar PV on their homes. We have an opportunity to bring this program to Needham later this year.
- Solar 101 – Green Needham is presenting this introduction and guide to residential solar energy in March. This session is a preview of the outreach that we would undertake in support of a Solarize Needham program.
Our “armchair” web meetings are designed to make it easy for you to learn more without leaving home. Join us online on either date:
Details on the web meetings and connecting to them are available through the respective links for that meeting.
The presentation slides for the web meeting are posted here.
