Much planning, discussing, dreaming, convincing, and tasting has led up to the real possibility that Needham will have its own farmers market next year. It now comes down to a crucial vote at Town Meeting on May 2 when the Members will vote yes or no on the zoning proposal. Of course they should all vote yes, as the farmers market would add so much flavor to the town. Besides providing another source for fresh, organic, local produce, it would also be a great place to mingle with other Needham folks for an hour or so on warm weekend days.
But we can’t expect that our Town Meeting representatives know how we feel. Please call your precinct reps and tell them to vote yes.
It won’t cost the Town anything, but it will bring in business and build community. Definitely a win win vote.
