Green Kids is off to a great start. Together we have chosen the theme endangered habitats to focus our efforts on this year. Each school will individually decide how to take the theme and make it most meaningful to the kids at their schools. With so many habitats to choose, one school may focus on rain forests while others might spend their time on the Polar ice caps or the situation facing the Gulf. As usual, we will spend some time sharing information with each other so we can benefit from being a group.
Speaking of sharing, Green Kids Needham will be sharing information with an even bigger group. Green initiatives are popular in all of the surrounding towns, so we formed the group “Green Kids and Schools of Greater Boston”. Currently there are about ten local towns involved. We have a few goals we are working on together, but mostly the idea is to be able to share ideas and use each other as resources. We communicate through Big Tent postings.
